The American Homesteading Foundation or AHF is a not-for-profit organization that owns and manages more than 50 acres of park land, community swimming pool, recreation hall, and sponsors year-round educational and social events for all ages. Stewardship of the vast parklands and an engaged and collaborative membership is at the heart of our organization. It is not an HOA.
Run by an elected board of trustees assisted by a small part-time staff of three, the AHF administrates the privately owned property on behalf of, and with the help of, its members. Approximately 25% of the membership volunteers their time in one way or another. All members support the conservation of the parks and reserves.
In addition to the diverse natural park areas, the AHF owns a swimming pool, basketball court, baseball field, shuffleboard court, horseshoe pit, community garden, and a recreation hall that can accommodate up to 100 people.
THE PARKLANDS IN THE TOWN OF MELBOURNE VILLAGE ARE PRIVATE PROPERTY. PARKS AND TRAILS ARE OPEN TO MELBOURNE VILLAGE RESIDENTS ONLY. NO TRESPASSING. FOLLOW PARKLAND RULES AND STAY ON DESIGNATED PATHS.
