The Board of Trustees meets on the second Thursday of each month at 7:00 PM at the AHF Hall. The membership is invited to attend. Minutes are available by calling or emailing the AHF office.
Some Committees also meet on a monthly basis but many choose to take care of business via email or texts and get together occasionally when required.
The ultimate power and authority of the American Homesteading Foundation (AHF) lies with its members. The membership comes together each year on a Saturday morning in early March in a classic town meeting format. The Board of Trustees and committees present their reports for the previous year. The membership committee chair introduces new members. The treasurer presents the financial report. All presentations are open for questions and discussion. The membership can propose changes to the by-laws, policy, or priorities in the form of resolutions and referendums.
Following tradition, the annual meeting is followed by the annual dinner on the Sunday after the meeting. The dinner is usually catered with opportunities to bring a dish or dessert. Often includes entertainment or after dinner speaker.
